Weekend Plans!?

So, what are you doing for the weekend?

As for paperosity, we are headed to the post office to drop off more orders, and then to get pampered with pedicures. We will be cleaning the office and hope to actually get some scrappin and stampin done also!

The store is just about empty. We are down to a few Primas, stamps and embellishements (mostly the military stuff) and papers. I believe we are going to officially close down on November 15 - midway through the month, and also our 20th wedding anniversary!

San Diego County Fires

I just thought I would share some pictures from the past couple of days at our house.

The first three were my attempt at trying to get the beautiful orange moon Sunday night from my driveway - all I seemed to accomplish was getting what looked like snow - however, it is really ashes from the fire, which at that point was still well over 30 miles away.

You can barely make out the orange moon in the middle of the shot above.

Fast forward to Tuesday evening - wish I had thought about taking pictures through this whole ordeal! We were too busy worrying about possible evacuation and providing friends of ours a place to stay once they were evacuated. Anyway, the shot below is looking at the west sky Tuesday afternoon/evening. You can see the blue sky at the top - that's the way it should all look - and then the smoke layer. You can also see all the dry brush on the hill behind the houses at the end of the culdesac. Hence one of the reasons we were packed and ready to leave at a moment's notice. That same brush starts about 100 feet down a hill out my back door also...

These next two shots are difficult for me. It's remarkable that something so devastating can create something so beautiful. These shots are of the sunset through the smoke out of my backyard Tuesday evening.

We have a fine layer of ash over everything, inside the house and out. We have difficulties breathing because of the lingering smoke. But we have our lives, our family, our possessions, and our home. So many others can't say the same thing... Prayers being lifted up for those who are still evacuated, who have lost everything, and to those who are selflessly risking their lives fighting these fires.

Orders *NOT* shipping.

If you have placed an order with paperosity within the past few days (Saturday-now), please note that your orders have not and will not ship within the next couple of days. We are located in San Diego, CA, and as I'm sure most of you have seen, we have been affected by the horrendous fires in the area. We are fine, we did not evacuate, although the mandatory evacuation lines were literally two blocks from our house. Postal services are not running in our part of the county yet, and as soon as I can get them to a post office that will accept them, your orders will go out! Thank you for your patience!

Overwhelmed

Wow.... that's all I can say. We have been so busy the past few days since we took the store to 40% off that we haven't even really had time to relax. LOL, that's the way it was supposed to be from the beginning - not just now at the end!

Get them while you can. I can't tell you how many times a day I am taking products off the site because they're sold out!

We're not behind - in fact some orders that we received today are shipping today - but we have had to cut them off so we can get to the post office - the remaining orders placed this weekend will ship Monday.

Thanks for your continued support - please feel free to share this incredible sale with others!

As of this morning, the entire store is 25% off regular prices. We will not be restocking items, so get them while you can - once they're gone, they're gone for good!

Life Gets in the Way

It has been two months to the day since I have updated this blog. Kind of like the store - we haven't been doing much with it either. Which led us to some self-reflection and soul searching.

Although we thoroughly love the idea of having the store and finding new products, working it, etc., we have come to realize that this simply isn't the right time in our lives to proceed on this adventure. It is time for us to concentrate on the things that really matter to us in life. How can I run a stamp and scrapbook store when I haven't done either since April!!! We are working on getting back to the basics.

We will keep the address, the name, the business licenses, etc., and hope to restart the whole process again in the future.

So what does this mean to you the customers? Check out the post above for more details.

Once again, I wish to thank those who have supported us from day one, and the new supporters and friends we have made along the way.
